Referral agencies

Accept self referrals and referrals from Essex Social Services, Harlow District Council, Streets 2 Homes, Family Mosaic floating support, Nacro, the Probation Service, YOT, Harlow College.

Referral procedure

Phone Mon-Fri 9am-5pm. Application form, interview and needs assessment. Require proof of ID. Decision by joint referral panel as to most appropriate provider - if Foyer, 6 week assessment before final offer of tenancy.

Support services

10 staff, 24 hour waking cover. Allocated support worker system (24 residents per worker) with meetings at least monthly. Support around careers, life skills, ICT training, money management and personal development. Support level is varied as residents move towards independence. Specialist support offered regarding offending behaviour and parenting skills.

Health services

Support available for mental health and substance misuse needs.

Access to move-on

Have 10 council nominations per year. Resettlement support provided as part of personal development plan. Provide follow-up visits at 3 and 6 months after move on and can refer to floating support service if necessary.

House rules and tenure

Involvement in support programme is compulsory. No alcohol or smoking in communal areas. Assured shorthold tenancy.

Between 7am-11pm. Overnight guests allowed 3 nights per week.

The accommodation is provided in two stages. Stage one has 76 part furnished studios and stage two has 40 unfurnished one-bedroom flats. Residents can move from stage one to stage two on the achievement of agreed targets.
