Target group

Young single homeless people aged 16-25 with support needs. Those with a local connection to Bristol will be prioritised.

Will not accept

Arsonists and people with a recent history of violence.

Referral agencies

Only accept referrals from The HUB, Bristol City Council.

Referral procedure

Named agency referrals only. Phone The Hub (Mon, Tues, Thurs, Fri 10am-3.30pm, Weds 12 noon-3.30pm) for interview with housing adviser. Application form. Risk assessment.

Sometimes operate waiting list of 1-2 weeks.

Staffing and support ^ back to top

Support services

11 full time staff on-site, 24 hour waking cover. Keywork system (4-5 residents per worker), weekly keywork meetings. Action plans with agreed outcomes, reviewed weekly. Staff provide support around independent living skills, including budgeting, nutrition and cooking, alcohol and drugs issues, access to education, employment and training.

Health services

Weekly visits from alcohol and drugs professionals.

Access to move-on

Staff provide help with finding move-on accommodation as part of keywork. Help with grants, obtaining furniture. Referral to floating support workers.

House rules and tenure

Must participate in programme of support. No alcohol allowed on the premises. Smoking in own room and designated area only. Licence agreement.

Must be in by 12 midnight Mon-Thurs, 2am Sat-Sun.

Yes, between 9am-9pm. No overnight guests.

St George's House provides accommodation and support for 25 young single homeless people aged 16-25. Accommodation is in bedsits with shared kitchen facilities.
